INCLUSIVENESS AND INTERSECTIONALITY
Our mission is to remove the hurdles that often stop burgeoning food entrepreneurs from being able to scale their business. Focusing on the needs of marginalized groups often left out of our food industry for lack of resources (and access to them), we have intentionally created a space that prioritizes community over profit. The comfort and safety of our femme, LGBTQIA+ and members of color have deeply influenced the layout of our space, the configuration of our team, and all of our processes. Everyone is welcome at Leaven.
EQUIPPING AND EMPOWERMENT
We equip our members with 13 work stations in 6 different configurations to be able to help any food or drink business rise and transform. Along with our kitchen, we rent speciality equipment, offer ample dry storage, walk-in refrigerator and freezer, coworking office space, and bathrooms with lockers and showers so that Leaven can be your one-stop-shop for growing your business.
We are committed to your growth and the growth of your business. We are able to connect you with consultants and resources to get the licensing, marketing, packaging, delivery and business help needed to empower your business to grow. This space can also be rented out for photo shoots, YouTube videos, cooking classes, pop up events, community dinners, and product tasting.

Our goal is to be completely open and honest with our members and for our members to be open with us. We want businesses to have the information they need to make the best decisions for themselves and their business. This includes upfront pricing, open communication, and any other resources you need at your finger tips.
We will give you all the necessary information you need to be a successful member of our kitchen, including on-boarding, reference materials, and all the appropriate logs for you to keep your business and our facility in compliance.
Community has always been Krystle's passion, and she has used her Sociology degree to understand the importance of connection, community, and cultivating a culture.
She is a founding owner and the current operator of Hodgepodge Coffeehouse in Atlanta, Ga, opening the business at the age of 27. Today there are two locations with two more slated to open in the next two years.
Over the last ten years Krystle has found her niche while navigating the small business landscape, even being selected and graduating from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business program. She takes her experience and invests it into concepts that focus on connecting marginalized groups to resources and to each other.
Director of Operations
As Leaven's Operations Director Fernando does more than just manage the day to day operations of the kitchen. With more than 18 years of sales, customer service, and management experience, he's laser focused on assisting Leaven members successfully grow their business. (He also works as an in-house Certified Servsafe instructor and proctor, kitchen manager, equipment trainer, Mr. Fix-It, and sometimes therapist.) No matter which hat he's wearing, his goal is simple - to empower Atlanta's small food businesses, drive measurable results and take their business to the next level.
When he's not at work, you can usually find him tinkering with all things tech, gaming, and hanging out with his wife and three children.
Elysa is excited to combine her Food Service experience with a passion for helping small businesses thrive. She has spent the past 20+ years in Food Service technology and project management, working with food service companies to improve operations. From technology plaftforms to line busting processes, her professional focus has been on maintaining quality food and service while operating more efficiently.
Elysa has volunteered with Start Me, a small business training program that provides entrepreneurs the tools and connections necessary to build and grow successful businesses.
